Rev. Samuel Rodriguez recently joined Stream contributor Randy Robison in an exclusive interview to discuss the state of politics in our nation.
“It’s a Charles Dickens moment,” Rodriguez says. “In certain respects, it’s the best of times. We’ve seen religious liberty protected like we’ve never had religious liberty protected before, arguably. We have seen a defense of life protected, particularly through the conduit of the Executive branch. Arguably like never before since Roe v. Wade.”
“On the other side of the coin … This idea of socialism — of big government, of government dependency — is so counter intuitive to Scripture and the Word of God and God’s purpose. Listen. If you want to talk about socialism, this idea of big government, Uncle Sam may be our uncle, he’ll never be our Heavenly Father. Ever.”
“This idea that we depend on government for income. … It takes away the God-given ability, the self worth, dignity component of work, of creativity, and innovation. It’s just ridiculous. It’s anti-Biblical, and every Christian should rise up and say, ‘No!’” Continue reading…
