A group of Jewish rabbis is asking Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to stop partnering with the Southern Poverty Law Center – a controversial group that has erroneously labeled many pro-family and faith-based organizations as “hate groups.”
Rabbi Yaakov Menken, managing director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, is part of a group of 100 Orthodox Jewish rabbis calling on Bezos to stop using the SPLC as a source to determine which groups should qualify for the AmazonSmile program.
Launched in 2013, the AmazonSmile program allows customers to select a charity to which Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price of certain items.
